Child of the Wild Kangaroo-apple Season - a sensory workshop

Celebrate IDPwD with a Child of the Wild at Eltham Library for a sensory adventure inspired by the Wurundjeri Kangaroo-apple season.

In this nature-based session, children and caregivers will explore a series of sensory stations designed to support curiosity, regulation, and joyful participation.

Together, everyone will dance like a kangaroo to move to the beat of a thundery sky; build a nest for Bunjil the Eagle; make seeds bombs and thread flowers from the seasons sweet harvest; create felt gardens; and use clay to mould our favourite kangaroo-apple seasonal item.

This workshop is planned with neurodivergent school aged children in mind and welcomes families and caregivers to participate alongside children in a supportive, relaxed environment.

Child of the Wild sessions share culture, earth mindfulness and sensory exploration through movement and art. You’re welcome to move around, take breaks, or engage in your own way.
