In Australia, recognising International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a joint effort between government,
schools, organisations, community groups, businesses and individuals.
There are many ways you can be part of creating an inclusive and diverse community.
You can break down barriers and promote inclusiveness by encouraging your school,
workplace, or community group to organise an IDPwD event on or around 3 December.

IDPwD is a good time to make a commitment within your organisation,
workplace or community group to break down barriers and promote disability inclusion. This might include:

· becoming more accessible in your workplace practices
· supporting a local disability organisation
· encouraging conversations in your community, school, workplace, or with family and friends about disability inclusion and accessibility

Read, watch or listen to stories from the disability community
If you are a person with lived experience of disability, you may wish to share your own story about your personal experiences,
achievements or challenges. You could also encourage your workplace, organisation,
or community group to share stories about what they are doing to promote inclusion on their website or social media channels.
